Member Posts: 23 | In 1983 a new virus (to everyday socitiy) hit that No one could understand or most would even attempt to research...*GRID. For some of you, this may be something that you have never heard of, of not called by that name. But soon after C.F.D.C. named it "AIDS"! The grand stand came from the social media & our own goverment that pin pointed the Gay community for the starting & spreading of this virus. This was just another attack on the gay community, AIDS DID NOT START in our community but to our dismay it did spread like wild fire. Many people died horrible deaths with very little understanding about what they had contracted. It was not until 1993 that *our goverment determand that there should be a govermentaly funded project to help us as US citizian better understand & fight the virus. That being said while people continued to die & hospitals would even reject people with HIV OR AIDS our US goverment took its time gather & passing laws allowing funds to actully be used to try to begin to find a cure, this was in 1995. We are in 2010 & have med's to help with the side effect of having HIV OR AIDS but still have no cure. To this day it is still looked at as the "gay" virus! We have learned through the years that one could not contract HIV OR AIDS through touching or breathing the same air yet still there are more then enough stupid bigots out there to scare fear into our society to the point it is a danger for anyone to acknowlege to the public that they are infected yet our goverment enforces us to have it made public knowledge! For those of you who do not know the virus can only be transmited to another person by one persons bodily fluids entering anothers. The sad part now is that our younger genertations for the most part believe that if they wear a condom or pull out ahead of time their safe. NOTE: THIS IS NOT TRUE! There alot more then just this virus to contract today but people continue to think that it "can't happen to me, I'm careful!" But the truth is it can happen to anyone regardless of your sexuality or how careful you are. ***PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS ONLY A SMALL PART OF THE STORY BUT HOPEFULLY ENOUGH TO MAKE *EACH OF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN ABOUT THE REALITIES OF HIV / AIDS OR ANY OTHER VIRUS OUT THERE. TO HELP CONTROL THE SPREAD & DEATH OF SOMEONE YOU KNOW, LOVE OR EVEN YOURSELF; PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN THE HISTORY OF THE VIRUS & HOW IT HAS EFFECTED & IS EFFECTING OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH OUT THE PAST YEARS & NOW! WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR PRESENT & TOMORROW! TAKE THE TIME TO CARE BEFORE TIME RUNS OUT! | |
